Project Manager - Operations

Job Description:

Job Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations, the Project Manager-Operations for Spray Technologies is responsible to quote, direct, plan and coordinate multiple complex projects. As an operations position, this position requires supervision duties, scheduling, coaching employees, training, technology/continuous improvements, and managing work/quality to completion.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, recruiting, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; regarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Establish work plan and staffing for each shop project and assign project personnel.
2. Sales quoting, site visits, and customer on-site maintenance/repair required.
3. Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
4. Confers with individual project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
5. Other misc. duties and responsibilities:
a. Starts inspection process, department schedules, and ensures proper procurement for schedule.
b. Ensures machines are operated efficiently in the shop.
c. Is conscious of ways to improve operations.
d. Assists in the motivation of employees. Confers with COO/DOP to resolve complaints/grievances within
the workforce.
e. Works with other shops for specific needs so all projects get completed on time (OTD).
f. Works with customer and design team to ensure customer requirements and quality are met.
g. Assists in final preparation of quality documentation and reports as needed.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective leadership skills. Ability to inspire individuals to take pride in their work, perform in a team environment and achieve daily production goals.
Strong management skills including the ability to make decisions with minimal supervision, goal setting, delegation, coaching, and motivating employees.
Excellent precision measuring skills for evaluating course of action or determination.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and ask for assistance when appropriate.
Strong client-facing and communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
Strong Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software. (ERP, CRM)

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Management Role
Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience.

Independent Action:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
