Duties & Responsibilities:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for directing, overseeing, and providing appropriate leadership to the Nursing department in support and promotion of Ellsworth County Medical Centers mission, vision, and values. This includes business planning, organizing, and controlling the department of nursing and patient services. Oversees a multi-unit department comprised of clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring patient care is in accordance with accepted standards. Authority and accountability for nursing practice, nursing education, and nursing activities. Maintains collaborative relationships with other departments and provides consultation services, as necessary.



Experience & Skills Preferred:

Bachelors degree from an accredited school of Nursing required.
Minimum 5 years experience in acute care nursing required
Demonstrated leadership with 3+ years management experience preferred
Critical access hospital experience preferred
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas
ACLS and PALS current within 90-days of hire
TNCC current or within 6-months of hire
Current CPR certification required.
