Systems Process Engineer EFD

Position Summary:
Coperion K-Tron is looking for a Systems Process Engineer - EFD and the position will be located in Salina, KS.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Individual is responsible for managing material handling projects. These include projects from initial inquiry and conception through successful operation at the customers facility. The role includes technical planning, sizing, selection, design, coordination, commissioning, and overall project supervision for material handling systems project deliverables.
Interface with the Sales Department, Sales Reps, vendors, and customers to develop system equipment proposals and secure system projects.
Develop process flow concepts with cost estimates and written proposals.
Responsible for technical and functional selection of equipment, confirming it matches our customers needs and is compatible with the interests of our company.
Post-sale responsible for the performance and financial success of each project.
Review design criteria and application information. Confer with the Engineering Manager or Coordinator to resolve application issues.
Serve as primary point-of-contact for life of project.
Align and manage customer expectations to scope of deliverables.
Develop and present solutions to customers as issues arise.
Direct, review, and coordinate designers, drafters, vendors, and others to ensure proper engineering, application, design, and cost control for the order.
Oversee and ensure job progress relevant to schedules through engineering, production, start-up, customer acceptance, and final payment.
Assist in or perform field start-up, problem resolution, and remediation action.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Coperion K-Tron products, policies, and goals.
Travel as required to customer offices and manufacturing sites.
Work on product improvement and new product development projects.
Other duties as assigned by manager.


Skills/Experience:
1-5 years direct experience with material handling applications and projects.
General understanding of dry bulk solid material properties such as flowability and filtration.
Familiar with related equipment and systems (feeders, pneumatic & mechanical conveyors, flow aids, processing equipment, mixing & blending, unloading and loading devices, bulk storage, size reduction, dust collection, etc.)
Understand pneumatic conveying techniques and methods of sizing systems and blowers.
Familiar with a variety of customers processes such as baking, milling, compounding, extrusion, compounding resin, chemical production, mixing, and weighing.
Knowledge of process control fundamentals.
Able to read and understand piping and instrument diagrams (PID) and concepts.
Able to read and understand production level drawings that include weld symbols, tolerances, materials of construction, and bill of materials.
Working knowledge of metal fabrication practices that include welding, machining, forming, and surface finish levels.
Ability to understand and apply national design and safety codes.
Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy, tact, and cooperation necessary to communicate and work effectively with coworkers, customers, manufacturer's representatives, vendors, and visitors.
Must be able to concentrate and pay close attention to detail and have good skills in planning, coordinating, and organizing.
Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Ability to make technical presentations to all levels of customer management/technical staff.

Education:
Engineering degree, Milling Science, or similar
