Job Description:
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, The Patient Advocate acts as the welcoming person for patients and family members when calling with a grievance. The Patient Advocate is responsible to respond to telephone inquiries from patients and family members, and following established protocols and federal state and accrediting body of patient grievance. This person documents patient grievances by listening to the patient and family members, determines appropriate resolution, provides feedback communication to the patient and/or family. The Patient Advocate works directly with Administration and system leaders to resolve complaints and grievances as well as prepares the Grievance committee data on a quarterly and as need basis. This position performs the receptionist, data processing, keyboarding and secretarial functions for the Quality Improvement department.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Associate Degree in Health or Business related field preferred
Minimum Experience
2 years’ experience working in health care
