Job Description:
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of a professional nurse, team lead, or supervisor in charge of the department, the Certified Medical Assistant Apprentice (CMA Apprentice) assists departments in both the hospital and clinic setting to provide quality care. This includes scheduling patient appointments, taking vital signs, transporting patients, clerical support, observation & surveillance to prevent patient injury, and helping the professional nurse with interventions. The CMA Apprentice also interacts with other departments as needed and performs cleaning, and restocks supplies, all under the direction of their appropriate supervisor. This position is a part of Salina Regional Health Center's CMA Apprenticeship which includes enrollment in the CMA program.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Completion of High School diploma or equivalent.
Upon hire will actively enroll in online Certified Medical Assistant program through the SRHC Certified Medical Assistant Apprenticeship.
Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred
Minimum Experience
Required Registration/License/Certification
Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider) within 90 days of hire.
