Roles and Responsibilities:
Dispatching truck drivers.
Exporting outbound orders in Transportation Manager.
Help build efficient routes that include both deliveries & pick-ups.
Assigning drivers routes for each week.
Sending drivers their routes.
Making sure sales orders are delivered on-time, Pick-ups are made on-time, & special delivery and/or pick-up instructions are relayed to drivers.
Going through weekly sales order report and moving past due orders up and exported to deliver.
Communication to sales on deliveries and pick-ups.
Making sure drivers are making delivery & pick-ups on-time.
Advising customers when truck are delayed.
Moving sales orders to the appropriate status.
Scanning and filing Bill of Ladings and packing slips for accounting purposes.
Assisting with hired out freight.
Close out sales orders.
Assisting with oversize freight (includes ordering permits for oversized loads).
Communication to customers (calling to schedule deliveries, pick-ups, and advising customers when trucks are delayed).
Requirements:
1-3 years' experience preferred.
Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.
Operate smart phone (communicate via text, email, web, and phone.
HS Diploma or GED required.
Being part of an on-call rotation schedule on the weekends.
Being a part of a quarterly safety team.
Cooperative and professional attitude towards all internal and external customers.
Work with team members to resolve questions and help with the work load.
A dependable and strong work ethic; work safely.
Professional language and conduct at all times.
Ability to learn other areas sufficient to fill in where required.
