Inside Sales Representative
Responsibilities:
1.Develop positive relationships with contractor customers in the Plumbing, HVAC and/or Waterworks industries.
2.Become Familiar with stock and special-order products used in the Plumbing, HVAC and/or waterworks industries.
3.Quote prices (with assistance of management) on stock and special-order products to Plumbing, HVAC and/or Waterworks contractors via email, telephone and in person.
4.Follow up on quotations to determine project status.
5.Enter and expedite orders, through a direct order entry software package.
6.Coordinate timely delivery of material with contractors, general contractors or building owners.
7.Help contractors solve problems (with assistance of management and suppliers).
8.Advance into purchasing of products for local inventory and special-order products.
9.Perform other duties as may be assigned
Experience and Training:
Retail or wholesale sales experience and knowledge of plumbing and heating material are helpful, but we will train. Basic computer experience is required. Training will include time in a warehouse setting.
Education:
Minimum required to apply: High school diploma or GED.

Background Information
The Salina Supply Company is a wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, pumping equipment and waterworks supplies to the western two-thirds of the state of Kansas. The company was established in 1919 and is one of the largest independent plumbing and HVAC distributors in Kansas. Salina Supply has been a strong member of the local Salina economy since it was established and is locally owned and managed.
Salina Supply handles some of the most prominent product lines in the plumbing, HVAC and waterworks industry and sells primarily to plumbing contractors, heating and air conditioning contractors, institutions (schools & hospitals, etc.), and municipalities or utility contractors. We operate from our stocking location in Salina and have six outside salespeople who cover territories from locations in Northwest, North Central, Southwest and South Central Kansas.
Salina Supplys regular inventory consists of over 8,000 items that are on-hand in the Salina warehouse and over 3,000 component parts items to support existing products in the field. We also pride ourselves in being able to locate and procure many thousands of special order items that we do not keep in our Salina warehouse. We also maintain a plumbing showroom with fixtures on display including: whirlpools, drop-in and pedestal lavatories, showers, tub-shower combinations, shower doors, kitchen sinks and dozens of faucets.
