Duties: Performs a variety of skilled mechanical repair work to gas, diesel & electric powered equipment; able to diagnose & troubleshoot motor & mechanical problems; carries out a preventive maintenance program; overhauls engines, both 2 cycle & 4 cycle gasoline powered equipment, carburetors, brake cylinders, differentials, transmissions, pumps & apparatus; fabricates special equipment & attachments to equipment involving acetylene & electrical welding; services & maintains gas & electric golf carts; uses computer to record equipment repair & maintenance; aids in storm-related activities such as snow removal operations; may perform irrigation repair & mow grass as needed. Engineering Tech II (Pavement Management)
Duties: Position is responsible for implementation & maintenance of pavement management system; requires ability to effectively assess condition of both asphalt & concrete pavements, prioritize locations in need of maintenance, & suggest appropriate maintenance options that best increases the lifespan of the pavement with cost effective solutions; performs technical engineering drafting, design, surveying & construction inspections; administrative support; maintains records & asset management; daily customer service. Education: High school graduate or G.E.D; completion of two year engineering course or related course work. Experience: Three years engineering technical work & drafting. Requirements: Must possess a valid Kansas drivers license; must possess a valid Kansas Class B drivers license (CDL) with air brake endorsement, or obtain within three months of appointment. Experience: One year sanitation work or experience with small trucks & light equipment in construction, maintenance, or related activities; must be able to work outside in all weather conditions; heavy manual labor & outside work experience desired. Requirements: Must currently possess valid Kansas Class B commercial drivers license (CDL) with air brake endorsement; must be able to perform heavy manual labor & run designated routes; must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Duties: Performs semi-skilled & skilled labor in the maintenance & operation of a water distribution & transmission system/wastewater collection system; performs minor electrical & mechanical maintenance; maintains wastewater pumps, motors & controls; installs, repairs, cleans, taps, fits & inspects wastewater/water pipelines; installs & repairs wastewater/water valves, manholes, & fire hydrants; installs & repairs chemical feed pumps & piping; performs custodial work such as cleaning, painting, lawn mowing & snow removal. Duties: Performs general office duties for the Water Customer Accounting Department including data entry, typing, filing, basic bookkeeping, & cashiering; position requires continual contact with utility customers making service requests; receives customer service requests & enters data on computer; answers inquiries & provides customer service in-person & via telephone; processes payments & answers general questions. Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Experience: Two years of experience in bookkeeping, clerical, & customer service work preferred; must have excellent telephone communication skills & the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy office; must type accurately at, or above, 40 words per minute.
