Formation Operator - $18 / hr

Job Description:

Job Summary:

Formation Operator is to operate and monitor the machinery and equipment used to form batteries. This could include any or all of the following: Loading batteries onto the conveyor and operating the In-Line Filler, grouping and cabling batteries for charging,operating Out-Line Top-off Acid Equipment, operating Hi-rate equipment, and offloading filled, charged batteries.

Essential Functions:

Understand and communicate in simple English.
Must cable/recable batteries in tubs, place cables on rack-tubs ends, lift batteries out of tubs onto conveyor, and remove forming vent caps from batteries.
Must be able to work as a team member.
Must comply with quality control specifications and maintain accurate and time SPC charts.
Required to assist in department or plant cleaning as needed.
Must comply with safety and health regulations for the protection of self and coworkers. This includes shower and shampoo at the completion of each work shift.
Must satisfy attendance requirements as written in company policy.
Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities
Follow Lean Manufacturing Procedures.
Comply with current Quality Systems Requirements.
Perform other work as assigned by Management.


Physical Requirements:

Continuous standing, walking and bending for 12 hr shifts. Repetitious work.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, hard hat, and metatarsal guard shoes, etc. as outlined in established policy.
Will be continually exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, humid, cold).
Will be exposed to acid, water and DC current.
Will handle barrels weighing up to 150 pounds. Repetitious lifting of 30-70 pounds. Commercial Line lifting from 30-90 pounds.


Equipment Used:

Fork lift, bum plan, pick list, pen,2 way radio, gloves, respirator.


Education, Experience, SkillsRequired:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Mechanical skills
Previous Manufacturing experience
