Job Description:

Brake Operator
Monday - Thursday, overtime as required.
Night Shift: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sets up and operates brake to bend, form rolls, arc, or straighten metal and structural shapes to drawing specifications.
Inspects all tooling for damage or defects.
Selects, positions, and aligns dies in machine ram and bed.
Secures tooling using clamps.
Adjusts machine to meet all safety requirements.
Plans work by interpreting prints.
Positions work piece manually or with crane to ensure alignment.
Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends metal.
Verifies dimensions of parts to drawing or using go-no-go gauge.
Sands laps or burrs from edges of work piece when necessary.
Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Prepare product for shipment.
Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) including check off sheets, Job Safety Analysis sheets (JSA's), End User Procedural manuals (EUP's) determined by the Quality Management Systems standards of ISO 9001 and ensure employee adherence.

Education & Experience
High School diploma/GED preferred.
Three to six months related experience preferred.

Additional Qualifications
Ability to interpret a variety of instruction, either written or verbal, diagram or schedule.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers in a one-on-one and/or group setting.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as dimensions using a calculator.
Ability to work with fractions and decimals, converting them back and forth using a chart.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Ability to multi-task in a high pace environment.
Organizational skills and attention to detail a must.
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize time and various projects.
Ability to work with confidential data.
