IT Support Technician
Permanent Full Time Position
A position is available to join a rapidly growing local MSP. SMG Unlimited LLC is looking for an
experienced IT Support Technician to join our team and help grow our business. This role
provides IT support to a variety of small business clients as well as works on other IT related
projects as needed.
Responsibilities include:
• Installing and setting up firewalls, routers, switches, and other networking equipment
• Reformatting computers and installing various software
• Replacing hardware components such as hard drive, memory sticks, video card, and
power supplies
• Ensuring client computers are completely patched with updates
• Verifying client data backups and Anti-Virus scans
• Troubleshooting client issues over the phone or on site
Technical Skills:
• MS Office applications, MS SQL (basics and install), MS Remote Desktop services
• Windows Server – All Current Versions, installation, configuration, upgrade and support
• Network support, understanding of IP, Internet connection, mail routing, routers,
firewall, subnetting and debugging, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP systems
• Knowledge of cloud-based email and DNS systems
• Active Directory Creation and Maintenance
• Setup and support of wireless access points, network and stand-alone printers, remote
access software
• Server virtualization with either VMware or Hyper-V platform
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Google Apps
• Proficient with common office software, i.e. Microsoft Office
• Automation / scripting skills a plus, i.e. powershell & batch scripting
This position would suit an experienced candidate with a can-do attitude, self-motivated with
strong communications skills, has an eye for detail, is well organized, has a willingness to learn
and an honest professional approach.
