Salary Information
Engineering Technician I: Wage range is: $17.98/hr to 27.05/hr dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Engineering Technician II: Wage range is: $19.41/hr to $29.25/hr dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Engineering Technician III: Wage range is: $22.63/hr to $34.23/hr dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Job Duties
Saline County is looking for a skilled and motivated Engineering Technician with a passion for hands-on work and a desire to contribute to our technical expertise and innovative projects involving Saline County Road and Bridge projects. The Engineering Technician will collaborate with engineers and other team members on a daily basis by performing tasks to include:
• Drafting and design
• Assisting with preparing estimates of work and materials
• Surveying and research
• Inspections of construction projects and bridges
• Sampling and testing in the field and laboratory on a variety of road materials
• Assist with traffic studies


Minimum Qualifications -
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Depending on the successful candidate’s education, skills and experience, they may be placed as an Engineering Technician I, II or III.
• An Engineering Technician I is an entry level position for a candidate wanting to enter the engineering technician field that has a high school diploma or equivalent with knowledge, education or experience in computer-aided drafting and civil/construction methods preferred.
• An Engineering Technician II is an experienced Engineering Technician with at least one year of education or experience working in the engineering, computer-aided drafting surveying fields.
• An Engineering Technician III is an advanced Engineering Technician: with two or more years of experience; knowledge and working experience with all methods of engineering, computer-aided drafting and surveying; the ability to read, interpret and explain applicable regulations, plans and specifications; experience in preparing technical reports, analyses, and documents; and have considerable experience in the field, including the use of tools, instruments, and equipment used.
• Must have a valid Class C Driver License and be insurable under Saline County’s fleet insurance policy.


Physical Requirements
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

Determined Work Level: Level 3 Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to
10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Ability
to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to operate and maintain computers, instruments,
and equipment.
