Project Engineer

Job Description:

Coperion is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Salina, Kansas or Pitman, New Jersey. As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for meeting Coperion K-Tron's commitment to the customer as represented in the recaps and customer purchase order. All duties to reflect the need for the highest quality at the minimum cost and highest availability.

What youll do:
Review customer specification, project recaps, and test reports to ensure scope of supply meets the customer's requirements.
Translate the project recap information into hardware and software requirements and define the job to production in clear and understandable terms in the form of engineering releases.
Perform engineering design as required to meet project requirements, utilize various sizing programs and historical information.
Furnish drawings and customer manuals to customer as requested on project recaps.
Provide direction and assistance to materials and production department personnel, as needed, to assure timely and proper completion if project.
Schedule and coordinate customer inspection (if required).
Furnish adequate documentation to customer to assure correct and orderly start-up and continued successful operation of equipment.
Maintain project/equipment schedules.
Generate change order to Sales to correct any errors in pricing or hardware configuration, or to reflect changes initiated by the customer.
Participate in customer meetings, material tests, start-up calls, or service calls at the customer location as required.

Basic Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science


Great to Haves:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science with substantial coursework or aptitude in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Industrial Computer field(s)
Co-Op experience in a related field
German, French, or Spanish language
General knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes
Ability to be responsive to schedule changes
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Various technical and measuring tools and their use
Working knowledge of the Electrical and EMI code, OSHA and CE safety standards, and knowledge of K-Tron's mechanical and electrical equipment
Working knowledge of Hazardous areas code
Experience with power transmission, stress analysis, metallurgy, plastics, electronics, and various engineering calculations (center of gravity, moment of inertia, torque analysis)
Knowledge of U.S. Customary system (inches) and SI system (Metric), various ANSI and ISO Engineering and drafting standards
General knowledge of ISO 9001 standards; detail knowledge of chapters Design control, Document control and non-conforming product
Knowledge of selling process and marketing techniques, process control, weighing and bulk handling technology
Familiarity with personal computer, various software
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Organizational skills
Basic Novel Network skills
AS400 terminal
Printers, plotter, blueprint machine, copier, paper cutter, scanner, fax machine, modem, phone, Software: DOS, Windows, Microsoft products, Lotus, WinZip, Auto Manager View, E-Mail (cc mail), Internet, Scheduling software, Utility program, Mapics, ERS, OSM
Experience using inspection tools, i.e., dial caliber, tape measure
Experience using mechanical and electronic tools used in assembly/disassembly and test of the equipment
