Job Title: Grants and Scholarships Coordinator
Responsible to: Director of Grants and Scholarships
Status: Full-time
Purpose: To coordinate Greater Salina Community Foundation’s and its affiliate foundation’s grants and scholarship funds
Date: January 2, 2018

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Grants Administration
1.Work with the Director of Grants and Scholarships to develop and implement GSCF and affiliate grant processes, including assisting applicants, reviewing grant applications and disseminating information to the grants committee
2.Ensure that grant criteria are followed in the selection and awarding process
3.Assist Director of Grants and Scholarships with grants committee meetings, strategic planning sessions, workshops, or other events as needed with Foundation grant processes
4.Look for opportunities to partner with other funding sources to enhance Foundation grant processes
5.Monitor and report on progress in any grant programs
6.Maintain files on Foundation grant funds, including meeting minutes, grant applications, agreements and reports



II. Scholarship Administration
1.Work with the Director of Grants and Scholarships to develop and implement GSCF scholarship processes, including assisting applicants, reviewing scholarship applications and disseminating information to the scholarships committees.
2.Ensure that scholarship criteria are followed in the selection and awarding process
3.Assist Director of Grants and Scholarships with scholarships committee meetings, workshops, or other events as needed with Foundation scholarship processes

III. OTHER
1.Seek opportunities to raise awareness of philanthropy in the Foundation’s service area.
2.Serve as a public speaker when requested, including grant and scholarship presentations.
3.Coordinate with the Director of Grants and Scholarships and other staff to provide articles and information for the newsletter, the annual report, the website, social media, and all other communications highlighting grants and scholarships.
4.Work with other GSCF staff members as needed
5.Update the GSCF website as needed with new grants and scholarships information



SKILLS NEEDED:
1.Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, manage time well, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
2.Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet packages.
3.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with others.
4.Must have and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license and the ability to travel and attend off-premises meetings and events.
5.Must have the ability to think creatively in order to advance and enhance the Foundations grant and scholarship programs.
6.Must have experience and advanced skill with Microsoft office suite. Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Word Press is a plus. GSCF will provide training on grant and scholarship software and database system.
7.Knowledge of using social media to engage potential donors, current donors, non-profits & professional partners.



REQUIREMENTS:
1.Bachelor’s degree required
2.Ability to work full-time in an office setting
